CactuX had a chance to be involved in highly important and interesting project between CTLAB<\/a> and laboratory at FEKT BUT dealing with development of Li-ion batteries (LIB).<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Na\u0161e R1-Shadow<\/a> \u2013 dedicated sample holder, was successfully used for high-resolution tomographic measurements of LIB electrodes using synchrotron radiation at Elettra facility in Trieste<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication BUT<\/a> has actively pursued research and development in the field of batteries, particularly focusing on the study of smart Li-ion batteries. With their expertise and dedication, they have made significant contributions to advancing battery technology. The Elettra facility in Trieste is a major international research center located in Italy. It serves as a synchrotron radiation source, producing intense beams of light across a wide range of wavelengths. The facility houses several experimental stations where scientists from various fields can conduct research in physics, chemistry, materials science. Now it is the LIB CT measurement. Elettra’s synchrotron radiation is utilized for numerous applications, including investigating the structure and properties of materials, studying biological systems, and analyzing cultural heritage artifacts. The facility has a strong focus on fostering collaborations and providing cutting-edge research capabilities to scientists and industry partners worldwide.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Acquired CT data from the LIB CT analysis will enable involved researchers to assess manufacturing defects with high accuracy, track degradation of battery over cycling or analysis of battery failure roots.
