CactuX was founded by the researchers from Laboratory of X-ray micro and nano computed tomography from CEITEC Brno University of Technology. For the first time CEITEC BUT came up with a initiative Innovation Entrepreneurship Award aims to identify and support new discoveries and results of research activities with a potentially significant impact and the precondition for application in industry.
XY Translation Stage (SaguaroX) was evaluated by the commission as one of the winning projects. “Thanks to the innovative design and control concept, the manipulator speeds up and refines the CT measurement process and is able to save up to 1 hour of work in a one-shift operation,” describes Tomáš Zikmund, from the research group Material Characterization and Advanced Coatings who is also a founder of the start-up company CactuX.
